Assessment Task 2
An 'Employer Appraisal' that documents tasks performed by you as a trainee during your placement, which assesses those performance elements representing key workplace skills, will be completed by your workplace supervisor. You will meet with your supervisor to discuss your appraisal including areas for improvement. It is expected that performance elements such as co-operation, presentation and professionalism are rated 'high', however it is expected that some technical aspects to duties undertaken by students during work placements will not be rated very high as this is a learning on-the-job process.
Assessment Task 3
You are required to observe a new client interview and:
Prepare a draft file note. This will then be discussed with your workplace supervisor and compared to the official file note that goes in the file. The file notes must be signed off by your supervisor.
Follow through the file establishment processes and documentation and develop and draw a flow chart of the process, including a description of each step of the process.

In the event you are unable to observe a new client interview you may do the following:

Before starting to work here as a consultant, I had a very simplistic understanding of the job profile of a consultant. I used to think that it wouldn't require much of the interpersonal skills that were emphasized during my education. I thought that during much of work, I would be asked to mechanically apply the legal provisions of Migration law to the cases handled by the organization. However, my entire viewpoint changed towards the work after handling the first assignment given to me. The first task assigned to me gave me a valuable insight into the challenges involved in this job. I realized that the most important aspect of my profile was to address each and every concern of the client. To achieve this client satisfaction, I was convinced that it wouldn't suffice just to apply the law. It is also necessary to understand the expectations of the client and how can my advice be tailored in a way that it is helpful to the client. Now, with some experience in dealing with complex cases, I have made a considerable amount of progress in terms of my interpersonal skills. I consider myself a much more evolved person to handle the problems on my way brought by the clients.
Due to my previous work experience in the service sector, I had certain pre-conceived notions about my organization. Before joining the organization, I had some particular thoughts about the way a consultancy service works. Prior to this job, I used to think that the quantity of the work was the priority of organizations in this sector since there is tremendous competition in this field. However, after spending some time in this job, I have come to realize that the values of this organization priorities the quality of the work over the quantity of work.
